Ghosts

09_10 thumb propeller shadowThe Oakland Airport is home to the Oakland Aviation Museum, formerly known by the much more fun acronym, WAM (Western Air Museum). It is primarily a collection of old airplanes, mostly military, stored in and around an old hanger. Unlike a lot of aviation museums, the aircraft, for the most part, have not been restored to shiny newness looking like when they were in service. Most were just towed in and parked, showing signs of having been worked hard and put out to pasture with little or no thanks.

These are fading remnants of the glory days... ghosts inhabiting the aircraft, leaving a tangible closeness to the people that flew them and systems that maintained them.

It's all about the view...

HEY, we're in San Francisco... what should we do?

I KNOW: let's be tourists and walk across the Golden Gate Bridge.

It's an awesome view and we'll be able to take in the entirety of the grand old structure...

Even from the bottom...

On the bridge, we can admire the view of the boats from miles around...

And just in case we are tempted:

Best of all, we can appreciate how this COLD, WINDY, RAINY, FOGGY day brings out the orange theme that seems to be all encompassing for the bridge:

(actually we had a great time with friends and family, just wish the weather had been a tad more cooperative!)

Inspired Marketing...

Check out this website. The Future It's one of the best I have seen and it is marketing a VERY unexpected product. In- depth research on my part (a quick Google search) revealed it to be a legitimate website.

Tip: a good high-speed 'net connection and decent speakers are needed to fully enjoy the site!

Make sure you scroll through the entire site (click the right arrow): don't miss channel three on Snacktacular TV and go all the way through the Nutritional Info links.

There is a lot of junk on the Internet but this site, useless as it is, is truly inspirational marketing! Hat's off to the guys with this kind of imagination.

When you are done enjoying the site, here are three informational links for those who want to know everything:
